Sunday and Mid week services

We have two Sunday Services.

8am – Book of Common Prayer

The Cup, Plate and Jug ready for use
This Service is held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays in the month. This is a short Service of Holy Communion using the old words of the B.C.P. from around the 1660s.

We use the side Altar to enable all who attend to be able to come forward together to receive Holy Communion.

10am SERVICE

Is held every Sunday, (with the exception of Remembrance Sunday when there is a special service at 10.30 a.m.).

On the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month we usually have a Service of Holy Communion using the Common Worship liturgy.

This is a said Service with Hymns, Bible reading and a Sermon.

It is a lovely Service for all who have been Confirmed and are ready for an ‘in depth’ Service.

During the sermon there is a teaching class for children in St. Luke's room. This finishes in time to enable the children to go up to the Altar with their parents during the serving of Communion. Whilst their parents will receive the bread and the wine, we ask for God's blessing on the children and those who have not been Confirmed.

On the 2nd Sunday of the month we hold an all age Family Service. This is a lot more informal and our families enjoy worshipping with us as we try to involve the children in activities during the talk.

There are two months in the year when the Family service is changed, we always hold it on Mothering Sunday, whichever week of the month it falls on. Then in November we hold it on the 3rd Sunday, so as not to clash with Remembrance Sunday.

Children are very welcome at all our Services.

We have a good sound system and hope that all parents will recognise the importance of bringing their children in to worship with them as a family from a very young age. In this way children are happy to come into church and feel part of the church family.

There is coffee/tea and refreshments after the 10am Service in St. Luke’s room.
